As an experienced system partner, we develop and manufacture customized foaming and insulation molds for the reliable production of components with integrated thermal insulation based on rigid polyurethane (PUR) foam.
Rigid PUR foam is a proven material for high-performance thermal insulation. Its excellent insulation properties, low weight, and wide range of applications make it the preferred choice for numerous industries and products.
Our foaming molds enable the insulation of a wide variety of components, regardless of geometry or complexity. Depending on production volumes and process requirements, our solutions range from manual molds to fully automated systems for use in indexed rotary or conveyor-based production lines.
For thin-walled or easily deformable components, special support molds are used. These prevent deformation caused by the pressure of the expanding polyurethane foam and ensure high dimensional accuracy as well as consistent, reproducible quality.
Typical applications for PUR insulation include:
- Hot water storage tanks in various shapes and sizes
- Transport containers for temperature-sensitive goods such as blood supplies or vaccines
- Temperature-controlled laboratory equipment, e.g. centrifuges
Universal molds for flexible variant production
Universal molds enable the flexible production of different component variants using a common mold platform. Interchangeable inserts and adjustable functional areas allow fast changeovers with minimal setup effort. This reduces setup times and investment costs and enables cost-efficient production, especially for applications with a high variety of variants or medium production volumes.
Explosion-proof molds for pentane processing
To improve the insulation performance of rigid PUR foam, pentane is frequently used as a blowing agent during the foaming process. Pentane enables particularly fine foam structures with excellent thermal insulation properties, but it is highly flammable.
For these applications, we develop foaming molds in accordance with the requirements of the ATEX directive. These molds and systems are designed for the safe handling of flammable gases and are engineered in compliance with applicable explosion protection standards. We take all relevant safety aspects into account, from material-specific design and suitable ventilation and monitoring concepts through to safe commissioning of the equipment.
